About the Rio Grande Valley Celtic Festival Association
The Rio Grande Valley Celtic Festival Association represents the united efforts of New Mexico’s Celtic Community to celebrate and foster traditional Celtic culture of the seven nations: Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Brittany, Isle of Man, Cornwall and Galicia..
Each year, the Association hosts a festival that engages Celtic dance, athletics, games, music, arts, history and oral traditions that promote Celtic Heritage in New Mexico.
As funding permits, grants are awarded for education of individuals or groups whose objective promotes Celtic Heritage. The Governor’s Office issued a proclamation designating the 3rd Saturday in May as Celtic Heritage Day in New Mexico.

The logo of Rio Grande Valley Celtic Festival Association displays imagery to help represent and convey who we are and what we do.
- The circle to the right contains a daffodil representing the Welsh people and their rich Celtic traditions.
- The circle to the left contains a shamrock representing the people and traditions of Ireland.
- The circle to the bottom contains a thistle representing the Scottish people and honors their traditions.
- The circle at the top contains the flower of the yucca and represents our presence in and celebration of the culture of New Mexico.
